Who are we?
Zonta Club of Mana is part of a global organization with nearly 33,000 members belonging to more than 1,200 Zonta Clubs in 68 countries.
Our mission is to improve the status of women in our community.
We have a commitment both nationally and internationally to advocate on matters of concern for all women - legal, political, economic, health, educational and professional status.
Our Club has been active in the Porirua district for the past 30 years. We provide support for women and advocate on their behalf. We fundraise for projects and scholarships that benefit women of all ages.
On a personal level, it is an opportunity to make new friends, learn and use leadership skills and enjoy fellowship and fun in the process.
How do we work?
We meet on the 1st Monday of the month at the Plimmerton Boating Club, Moana Rd, Karehana Bay, Plimmerton.
We start with a business session, followed by a meal in the atmospheric surroundings of the Boating Club. Meetings are friendly, not too formal, ending most times with a guest speaker. We close no later than 9pm.
An elected Board heads seven committees: Status of Women, Finance, Membership/Fellowship, Newsletter, Programme, Service, and Fundraising.
We love to be sociable too - maybe a BBQ, Saturday morning coffees or other planned events throughout the year.
If you are looking for a new interest or would like to know more, come along and have a coffee with us and/or join us at one of our meetings & see what we do.
Contact us anytime Ngawai 234 7880 or Helen 234 7430.
