What to do in Plimmerton » Coastal Quilters
Coastal Quilters was founded on 8th July 1988 and its meetings are held at the Plimmerton Pavilion, Sunset Parade. They are held on the second Saturday each month (except on holiday weekends, such as Easter or in January).The doors open at 1.15pm and the meetings start at 1:45pm and usually finish at approximately 3:30 or 4pm.

There are workdays in April and October from 10am to 4pm (These may be held at Ngatitoa Hall) The meetings have the following format: a guest speaker, demonstrations, or a workday, followed by Show and Tell where members bring their latest finished quilts etc. to display and describe. Meetings end with a cup of tea or coffee and the chance to talk to your fellow quilters.
The membership varies widely from beginners to those who have been quilting for a considerable time. Members live as far north as Waikanae and as far south as Wellington. Help is always available. Annual subscriptions are due on the 1st of June at $25.00. If joining in January, then a half-yearly subscription is $12.50. Club badges are available.
Quilt related classes are held throughout the year. Both New Zealand and International tutors are invited to teach.
The club has a large library of quilt related books and magazines. All financial members are encouraged to use this facility.
A monthly newsletter is either emailed or posted to members.
Visitors are always welcome.
