My name is Robyn Hall. I have lived in Porirua City all my life. My childhood years were spent growing up in Plimmerton, and I attended Plimmerton School, Aotea College and Victoria University throughout my education.
When I married, we shifted to Paremata, and in 2010 we shifted back to Camborne. I love this area, with the beaches, harbour, inlet and surrounding hills, and have always had a desire to paint them.
After only doing one year of Art at secondary school, it has taken me a long time to find time to paint. Now that my three children are teenagers, I have made a little spare time for myself to paint, and I am finding that I really enjoy it.
I have painted mostly in acrylic, but am just starting to dabble with oil paints. I also enjoy drawing in pencil and pastels.
Most of my paintings are landscapes of the local area as this is the place I love.
In 2014 I exhibited with my Mother, two aunties and my sister in the Bebe’s Babes exhibition at Pataka. This was a fantastic exhibition to organise with my family and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have also taken part in the Pataka Arts Awards over the past three years.
My paintings and prints are currently available for viewing at Marina Espresso, 3/5 Marina View, Paremata, or at the Bay Gallery, 4 School Rd, Plimmerton or online at http://www.plimmerton.org.nz/artists/robyn-hall/.
